Import IFC, RVT, and DWG files directly with element-level time mapping for lifecycle modeling.

When importing a building model from Revit or Archicad, 4d.io reads both spatial geometry and construction sequencing embedded in the file. This preserves the architectural intent, including phasing, material layers, and assembly structures, without requiring you to reassign start or end dates in bulk. The native parsing retains discipline-specific semantics like room boundaries and MEP routing, enabling accurate progress tracking alongside standard Gantt timelines.

The platform maps time-stamped activity IDs—such as those from Primavera or MS Project—onto architectural elements via configurable attribute rules. A column named 'PLANNED_START' in your schedule can be matched to the corresponding IFC element's custom property, ensuring that schedule shifts update the model in real time. This eliminates copy-paste errors and keeps the temporal mesh synchronized with project management tools.

You can refine how time attaches to geometry using on-screen element pairing or batch attribute scripts, allowing designers to correct misaligned elements before committing the ingestion. Once ingested, changes to the original file trigger a diff-aware sync: only updated elements reload, and temporal offsets are preserved rather than reset. This supports continuous integration for design development and constructability reviews without halting workflow.
