Shared timelines in 4d.io let multiple users edit or review the same project simultaneously, with each person’s cursor position and movement tracked in real time. This includes not just where someone is looking in 3D space but also which moment in time they are currently focusing on. Comments can be pinned to specific events, objects, or transitions and appear only during that temporal slice. This prevents confusion from generic notes attached to static views.
When reviewing a phased timeline, the team can all see who is analyzing the current phase versus the subsequent stage. The platform synchronizes scroll, zoom, and playback states so everyone stays aligned on both spatial orientation and temporal progression. Diverging viewpoints can coexist; one user might pause at a failure threshold while another continues forward, and both can leave time-locked annotations that others can filter or respond to.
Real-time awareness reduces bottlenecks in high-stakes collaborative sessions where misaligned assumptions about timing can be costly.
