In-context timeline scrubbing
Play, pause, and scrub through time to see dynamic changes across site layout, materials, and equipment deployment.
Timeline scrubbing in 4D Studio gives you precise, real-time control over how changes unfold spatially as time passes. Drag the scrub bar to advance or rewind simulations—watch how cranes reposition, materials arrive and install, or temporary structures appear and vanish in relation to built elements. The playback updates geometry, visibility, materials, and even linked data like equipment tags instantly.
Scrubbing works directly with parametric components, so changes cascade naturally—such as revealing hidden MEP runs only after ceiling panels are installed. You can lock views to specific scopes—like focusing on one zone or system—so scrubbing doesn’t overwhelm. Use play modes to loop critical phases or slow down for detailed review, matching your review workflow whether in a studio or field coordination meeting.
Integrate scrubbing into collaborative sessions by linking timeline markers to team comments or markups. Team members can jump to a specific date or phase, pause, and annotate why a sequence may need adjustment—like clashing equipment paths or insufficient workspace. This tight feedback loop shortens review cycles and ensures alignment before field execution.
