Late-Season Barrel Blending Workshops
Design your own blend with a winemaker, then bottle and label it to take home.
These workshops happen just after harvest, when young wines rest in barrel and still hold their full aromatic potential. A winemaker guides you through tasting base components, discussing how each vineyard block contributes structure or aromatics, and helping you adjust ratios until the balance feels true to your palate. You’ll learn what makes a blend cohesive—not just what to add, but when to stop.
The hands-on portion takes place in a clean, well-lit blending room, often tucked behind the tasting bar. You’ll measure, swirl, taste, and refine a small batch—usually enough to yield one or two bottles—before selecting your label design and hand-writing a note to include on your personal bottle. This is real chemistry, not theater.
Participants typically spend two to three hours, depending on how deeply they want to explore each component wine. Results vary, but even small adjustments can yield dramatic differences—learning why a touch of Malbec softens Cabernet’s edge is as valuable as the final product. You’ll leave with a single, unique bottle sealed and ready to bring home.
