Navisworks interoperability
Import Navisworks clash reports and automatically link findings to model elements, updating their scheduling constraints.
Export clash results from Navisworks as an XML report and load them into 4D.io. Each clash is tied to the precise model elements involved, including their geometric context and current phase assignment. The system then proposes adjusting the start time of one or both elements—such as delaying a mechanical installation until after structural framing is verified—to resolve the conflict in simulation.
Users review proposed timeline shifts, adjust constraints manually, or accept the recommendation to re-run the simulation instantly. Unlike static reports, clashes become active planning inputs that influence the sequencing logic. This bridges the gap between coordination review and buildability validation, reducing reliance on out-of-date PDF annotations or spreadsheet logs.
Clash resolution history is tracked within the timeline alongside versioned simulation runs. You can compare before-and-after sequences to assess impact on critical path or labor allocation. Teams iterating on tight deadlines find this especially valuable for quickly validating fix feasibility without restarting the full simulation.
