IFC/DWG ingestion
Directly ingest IFC and DWG files with automatic schedule mapping hints derived from built-in property sets.
When importing a model, 4D.io reads the structural and architectural elements along with their associated IFC property sets or DWG layer metadata. The platform then suggests potential scheduling mappings—like linking wall types to standard work packages—based on common conventions such as P-Sets or discipline-specific naming. This speeds up initial setup so teams can quickly assign durations and dependencies without manually rebuilding relationships.
You can accept, modify, or discard auto-suggested mappings before finalizing the import. The system retains the original geometry and metadata integrity while enabling time-based sorting and filtering. Teams working across disciplines often discover overlooked overlaps or gaps in scope, especially when comparing architectural walls versus structural columns in the same timeline view.
Large models load efficiently thanks to client-side streaming and view-level optimization—no local cache or plugin needed. Models over 500MB still import in under 90 seconds on average hardware. Once loaded, users can begin assigning phases, applying constraints, or previewing sequencing animations immediately, without waiting for backend processing.
