Cabins here often sit at higher elevations with stunning views and longer daylight hours in summer. The road over Union Pass or Teton Pass can close briefly during heavy snow, so checking current WYDOT alerts is wise. This gateway suits travelers combining Yellowstone with Grand Teton or Jackson Hole skiing.
Cody, east of the park via US-14/16/20, offers drives to the East Entrance typically under 70 minutes and a more rural, cowboy-cultural feel. Gravel roads may lead to remote cabins past Powell, and snow chains are sometimes required from November through April. This area provides quiet access to the Yellowstone River’s east fork and is great for fishing, birding, or visiting the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.
