The Savannah Music Festival transforms the city into a multi-venue concert circuit each March and April, drawing internationally acclaimed performers and emerging talent alike. Venues range from colonial churches to intimate theaters and open-air riverfront stages, with outdoor performances often set against the shimmering Savannah River. Expect programming that spans Baroque repertoire to contemporary jazz, with many events featuring local musicians alongside global artists.
Because indoor and outdoor spaces fill quickly, planning ahead is essential for optimal access to popular acts. Weekday matinees tend to be less crowded than weekend evening shows, and some free or ticket-price-flexible events are scheduled at smaller spaces like the Starland District or historic churches in the Historic District. Many performances last 75 to 90 minutes, with intermissions and pre-show talks at select venues.
